Tales From Tea Leaves

  I see a couple of people dancing, or maybe someone playing a tune. I'm dancing around to other people's tunes.

  A tortoise for a slow post bank holiday Tuesday.  Nobody else seemed to be working.

  It's the dog days of summer and I've been harvesting in the garden, creating things with what I've grown. Dog days and rewards indicated by the bone?

  Quite clearly a bat. And I am flying blind, in the dark, when it comes to my work. Will these funding applications come off or not? 

  Such an obvious tree, I felt sure something would come to fruition today, or I would get the opportunity to branch out. Nothing. An utterly interest-free day leaving me drained and depressed. Perhaps it indicates a need to be resilient and patient.

  This one said umbellifer plant to me. Today it rained for the first time in ages and watered my plants. I also got a little caught in it and could have used an umbrella. Tea leaves as weather forecasters?

  I reckoned I could see a horse with a rider in the cup this morning. I think this indicated a slow journey. I drove to Sainsbury's and I was indeed held up several times on the way there. Not by highwaymen. But a very slow tractor causing a massive tailback. Then a slow lorry. Then poorly planned roadworks. 

  I saw a round owl with the traditional V shaped beak. I expected and received wisdom today in the form of a Grantfinder report.

  I saw this image of a Teddy bear as an indication of a return to childhood things today.  I visited a stately home that I last visited with junior school. 

  Spots as if on a dice - 1 and 2. And another cup revealed 4 spots in a square. A lucky day for gambling I'd say...£13 won on lottery games today.

  This morning's dog face was reinforced when I went to the shop. Cutting through the field, a man blew his dog whistle right in my ear. Not on purpose. I think this is connected to my current frustration at not getting the time I need to dedicate to my writing. I'm being told to be faithful to my dream and not abandon it, as I feel like doing at the moment. In other words have dogged determination.

  A pair of surprised eyes with a tiny s under the left eye. Did I have any surprises? Well, a colleague answered an email that I wasn't expecting till next Tuesday. The Chancellor appeared on the news wearing a hard hat bearing my name.
